AURELIUS, a global alternative investment firm with expertise in private equity and distressed situations, is expanding its healthcare presence by acquiring Welzorg. The deal aims to bolster AURELIUS's portfolio through the addition of a nationwide platform that offers mobility aids, home modifications, and vehicle adaptations for individuals with physical limitations.

Welzorg provides comprehensive services including wheelchairs, scooters, adapted bikes, home adaptations, and vehicle modifications to municipalities, insurers, care institutions, and private individuals. The acquisition is expected to enable AURELIUS to enhance procurement processes, optimize the operating model, and expand service offerings.

The transaction also underscores AURELIUS's strategic focus on operational improvements through its internal operations advisory team, WaterRise. With this deal, Welzorg will benefit from expertise in business continuity and IT separation during the transition period.
