The acquisition aims to further digitize Scout24's consumer journey and boost top-line growth. FINANZCHECK, founded in 2012, provides real-time comparison of consumer loans, offering a platform for banks and finance institutions to reach potential borrowers efficiently.

Deal Mechanics

The transaction is subject to anti-trust approval and is expected to close within four to six weeks post-announcement. Scout24 will pay the full consideration in cash.

FINANZCHECK has a track record of strong growth, tripling its quarterly number of newly registered customers since Q1 2015 to over EUR 3 billion in brokered loan volume by the end of Q1 2018. The company's revenues in financial year ending December 2017 amounted to more than EUR 35 million.

By integrating FINANZCHECK, Scout24 aims to enhance its consumer finance offerings on AutoScout24 and FinanceScout24 platforms, extending the customer journey along the real estate and automotive value chains. The deal will also support Scout24's objective of realizing significant operational synergies.

Financial Context

The market for online consumer loans in Germany is growing rapidly, with an expected doubling of online comparison platform market share from 2015 to 2022. The deal represents a strategic move by Scout24 to tap into this expanding segment.
